High Performance Opal Polycarbonate Roofing Solution

The multiwall polycarbonate sheet 20 mm is a high-strength, UV-protected glazing material featuring a 7-wall structure. Manufactured by Arla Plast, this opal-tinted sheet is engineered for superior thermal insulation and durability. It serves as a robust solution for industrial roofs, terrace covers, and specialized greenhouse environments.

Solving Heat Loss in Glazed Structures

Standard glazing often struggles with high heat loss, leading to increased energy costs in cold climates or during extended growing seasons. Thin materials may fail to provide the necessary thermal barrier required for efficient climate control.

This 20 mm opal sheet addresses these challenges by utilizing a multi-layer design that significantly reduces heat transfer. Its robust construction ensures long-term performance, providing a reliable, energy-efficient solution for demanding roofing applications.

Technical Specifications

  • Brand: Arla Plast

Versatile Applications and Structural Compatibility

This sheet is suitable for industrial roofs, terrace covers, and outdoor shelters requiring high energy efficiency. It is also compatible with greenhouse structures where insulation is prioritized over maximum light transmission. The material integrates well into new builds or replacement projects using support systems adapted for 20 mm channel boards.

Important information

  • 15-Year Warranty Includes a 15-year warranty against yellowing, ensuring high light transmission throughout this period.
  • Color Variations Color shades of multiwall sheets can vary by up to 8% between different production batches. We recommend ordering all sheets for a single project at the same time to ensure a consistent color.
  • Cutting Tolerance The maximum allowable cutting deviation on the edges is 4 mm.
  • Standard Width The standard sheet width is 2.1 m. If a sheet is cut down to 1.05 m, one edge will remain open due to the internal channel structure.
  • Internal Structure The internal design (channels shape) of the sheets may vary based on stock levels, but the technical specs are identical. We never mix different structures in the same order to ensure a uniform look.
  • UV Protection & Installation Polycarbonate sheets must be installed with the UV-protected side facing up (facing the outside) for the protection to work. The UV side is clearly marked on the protective film.
  • Handle with Care Handle the sheets carefully to prevent scratches and damage.
  • Storage Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Use cases and compatibility

Ideal for use
This 20 mm sheet is perfect for terrace roofs and industrial buildings where thermal insulation is the primary requirement for maintaining a stable internal climate.
Consider alternatives
If your project requires maximum light transmission rather than high insulation, consider choosing a thinner sheet or a clear variant to increase overall solar gain.
Pay attention
Ensure your support system and rafters are specifically designed to accommodate the 20 mm thickness and weight to maintain structural integrity and proper load distribution.
